Diabetes Prevention Program

Diabetes Prevention Program

At Dr. Sawant’s Diabetes Care Centre, we are committed to empowering individuals to prevent the onset of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) through our comprehensive Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP). Our program is designed to educate, motivate, and support participants in adopting healthier lifestyles to reduce their risk of developing diabetes.

  • Obesity and Overweight: Excess body weight, especially around the abdomen, increases insulin resistance and the risk of diabetes.

  • Physical Inactivity: Lack of regular physical activity reduces the body’s ability to regulate blood sugar levels.
  • Unhealthy Diet: Diets high in processed foods, sugars, and unhealthy fats contribute to obesity and diabetes risk.

  • Family History: Having a parent or sibling with diabetes increases the likelihood of developing the condition.

  • Age: Risk increases with age, especially after 45 years old.

  • Ethnicity: Certain ethnic groups, including African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Native Americans, and Asian-Americans, have a higher risk.
